Although I got my Bachelors degree in History, I have always been interested in photography. I guess my interest into photography first developed in childhood, while glancing through the illustrated tourist books that I found on the shelves of my home. The big colorful pictures of places far and near inspired me deeply. In the oncoming years I was literally pushed behind the camera, as the other family members were not that interested in taking pictures. I can’t say that I was against that either:)
The next big step was already later, in times of digital photo revolution. The first digital camera I used was Canon Ixus 860 and I had lot of fun with it. In 2008 I moved to Norway and shortly after bought my first DSLR, the Canon Eos 450D which made a big difference in the photo quality. The hotel(Solstrand Hotel og Bad) I was working at was interested in my hobby and that way started to take photos for the them as well. This was the turning point and I dwelved into photography more and more. First I used the software that came with the camera, but at this point I started using Adobe CS4 and later moved to using CS5 as well.
As time passed I felt it important to upgrade my gear and I went for my first prosumer camera at the end of 2009, the wonderful Canon Eos 7d. Also I bought two EF L class lenses(EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM and EF 70-200mm f/4 LIS USM), which made a big difference when compared to the regular EF lenses I used before. My latest acqusition is the Carl Zeiss Planar T* 50mm f/1.4. The quality of this lens is mindblowing.
My biggest gig to date was taking photos for Kvikne Hotel in Balestrand, in the picturesque west coast of Norway. Mainly I have been taking pictures in the West Coast of Norway(near Bergen) and Estonia(as I am from this country), but I have been taking also pictures on my trips to East Coast of USA and different places in Germany.
In the last 2 years I have developed my skills quite a bit and tried to read as much as I can about different techniques. Also I have explored the endless possibilites that Adobe’s Photoshop 5 can offer. Even though my theme thusfar has been landscape and architecture, I also explore new themes in order to broaden my future clientele base. So if you want to book me or have any questions, then feel free to contact me:)
